Testosterone Enanthate is currently the most popular ester of Testosterone available to athletes. Unlike Cypionate, Enanthate is manufactured by various companies all over the world. Ampules of Testoviron from Schering are probably the most popular although many others exist. Enanthate is a long acting Testosterone similar to Cypionate. Injections are taken once weekly.
DELATESTRYL (Testosterone Enanthate Injection) provides testosterone enanthate, a derivative of the primary endogenous androgen testosterone, for intramuscular administration. In their active form, androgens have a 17-beta-hydroxy group. Esterification of the 17-beta-hydroxy group increases the duration of action of testosterone; hydrolysis to free testosterone occurs. Each mL of sterile, colorless to pale yellow solution provides 200 mg testosterone enanthate in sesame oil with 5 mg chlorobutanol (chloral derivative) as a preservative.

Possible Side Effects - To be updated
Female: the most common side effects of androgen therapy are menstrual irregularities; inhibition of gonadotropin secretion; and virilization, including deepening of the voice and clitoral enlargement. When administered to a pregnant woman, androgens can cause virilization of external genitalia of the female fetus.
Male: Gynecomastia, and excessive frequency and duration of penile erections. Oligospermia may occur at high dosage.
Fluid and electrolyte disturbances: Retention of sodium, chloride, water, potassium, calcium, and inorganic phosphates.
Warnings/Precautions - Hypercalcemia may occur in immobilized patients and in patients with breast cancer. If this occurs, the drug should be discontinued. Prolonged use of high doses of androgens have been associated with development of hepatic adenomas, carcinoma, and peliosis hepatis, all potentially life-threatening complications. Gynecomastia may develop and occasionally persists in patients being treated for hypogonadism.
Cholestatic hepatitis and jaundice may occur with 17aa androgens. The drug should be discontinued if this occurs, which will reverse the effects.
Drug Interactions - Androgens may increase sensitivity to oral anticoagulahts. In order to maintain satisfactory therapeutic hypoprothrombinemia, dosage of the anticoagulant may need adjustment.
Storage - Store in a cool, dry place.
